ALLEVARE AL TEMPO DEL CORONAVIRUS -Dall'Irlanda Tom O’Regan, allevatore di Irish Fancy canary

Il blocco anticovid 19 si sta lentamente allentando e noi oggi ci troviamo in Irlanda da un valente allevatore e giudice di Irish fancy.

Mi chiamo Tom O’Regan, vivo nella periferia di Cork City, nell'Irlanda del sud.

 Sono nato nel 1960 a Limerick, dove è iniziata la mia passione per gli uccelli, dove avevo l’abitudine di  osservare gli uccelli nativi dell'Irlanda. Ho iniziato ad allevare  gli  Irish Fancy Canaries nel 1990 e sono ancora molto appassionato di loro. Sono un membro di tre club della “Cork Show Bird Society”, della” Irish Fancy Canary Society” , della “Irish Fancy Canary Society (Filiale di Cork)” e  sono segretario di questi club. Giudico anche Irish Fancy Canary e ho giudicato in molte mostre  in Irlanda, Irlanda del Nord, al  National nel Regno Unito ed Bologna Italia.

l'allevamento

Il mio locale di allevamento  è di 14 piedi x 8 piedi in cui attualmente posso ospitare 84 uccelli ; in questo momento  (12.05.2020) i miei uccelli si  stanno riproducendo e ho allevato 44 Irish Fancy finora quest'anno,

Trascorro tre ore al giorno con i miei uccelli perché hanno bisogno di più attenzione durante la stagione riproduttiva per assicurarmi  che la schiusa stia andando bene e che i pulcini non siano stati eliminati dai nidi.

Tutto questo mi tiene occupato durante la pandemia Covid 19, dall'inizio della quarantena per  il virus . Sono pensionato delle forze di difesa irlandesi in cui ho prestato servizio per 41 anni, per quanto riguarda la stagione delle Mostre In Irlanda quest'anno dovremo aspettare e vedere che succede.

L'altra mia passione è la pesca, ma sfortunatamente durante il blocco non riesco ad andare, mi piace anche la fotografia e le passeggiate in campagna che faccio molto per tenermi in forma

Per quanto riguarda il virus nessuno sa quando finirà, ma si spera presto così che tutti possiamo goderci di nuovo la vita

My name is Tom O’Regan  I live in the suburbs of Cork City in Southern Ireland.

 I was born in 1960 in Limerick where my passion for birds started I use to watch the native birds of Ireland. I started with Irish Fancy Canaries in 1990 and I’m still very passionate about them. I’m a member of three clubs Cork Show Bird Society, Irish Fancy Canary Society, Irish Fancy Canary Society(Cork Branch)in which I’m club Secretary to these clubs. I also judge Irish fancy canaries and have judge many show in Ireland, Northern Ireland, The National in the UK and Bologna Italy.

 My bird room is 14ftx8ft in which I can house 84 birds at present my birds are breeding and I’ve bred 44 Irish Fancy so far this year,

I spend three hours a day with my  birds as they need more attention during the breeding season to ensure hatching is doing ok and no chicks have been knocked out of nests.

All of this is keeping me busy during Covid 19,at the start of the breakout of virus I retired from the Irish Defence Forces in which I served for 41 years, with regard show season In Ireland this year we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

My other passion is fishing but unfortunately during lock down I cant get to go,I also enjoy photography and country side walks which I do a lot of to keep fit
With regard to the virus no one knows when it will end but hopefully soon so we can all enjoy life again
