HUMILITY 'OF OTHER TIMES

In a time like this, where everyone knows everything, where if you express your opinion frank and sincere, you will become an enemy. Where even in the field of ornithology, we are witnessing the invasion of "Taliban", this hobby starts to sink... I remember when you could give an opinion about someone's canaries, even if it was negative, but still remain friends.  Now, if you  speak  bad of a   "bad" lizard , the breeder will become  your  enemy for life. We have  always played and joked about the quality of our lizard, but in  recent years "some" do not like to   joke about  their canaries neither on photos. I can not imagine where we will arrive. And this would be a hobby ???

I have found this article on Keith & Audrey Knighton, written by Huw Evans, published in the journal "Cage and aviary birds" in informal English a little difficult to understand , but I am trying to  translate it in Italian. Sadly, Keith and Audrey are no longer with us.  Many of the best Italian Lizards in 1990  were derived from those of Knighton. I like this article a lot  for its content and for the “ HUMILITY “ that emanates. A feeling very rare in this period.

 UMILTA' D'ALTRI TEMPI

In un periodo come questo, dove tutti sanno tutto. Dove se esprimi la tua opinione schietta e sincera diventi un nemico. Dove anche in ambito ornitologico si sta assistendo all’invasione di “talebani”, questo hobby comincia ad affondare,  non ricordo più amici a cui puoi dare il tuo giudizio , eventualmente negativo sui suoi canarini… Ora se ti permetti di dire male di un soggetto “brutto” , l’allevatore ti diventa nemico a vita. Si è sempre giocato e scherzato sulle qualità dei nostri lizard, ma da qualche anno “alcuni “non gradiscono nemmeno scherzare su una foto del canarino, non riesco ad immaginare dove potremo arrivare. E questo sarebbe un  hobby  ???

 Ho trovato  questo articolo su Keith & Audrey Knighton , scritto da Huw Evans , pubblicato sulla rivista "Cage and aviary birds" in un inglese arcaico un pò difficile, ma domani conto di tradurlo anche in italiano. Keith è morto l'anno scorso, Audrey qualche anno fa. Molti dei migliori Lizard  italiani nel 1990 derivano da quelli di Knighton.Mi è piaciuto molto per i contenuti e per l’UMILTA’ che ne sprigiona.
