LIZARD NON SOLO SCAGLIE
Ogni cosa che vediamo o ascoltiamo o assaporiamo non è perfetta ma
perfettibile, partendo da questo assoluto proverò a spiegarvi il perché del
titolo dell’articolo e tenterò di districarmi al meglio nel meraviglioso mondo
del lizard.
Credo che la stragrande maggioranza di noi sa che lizard è una parola inglese
che tradotta in italiano significa lucertola, e questo è sicuramente dovuto al
meraviglioso disegno, fatto di mezze lune nere, che indossa sul dorso che
ricorda moltissimo i colori e le livree di una lucertola.
Gli allevatori inglesi hanno avuto l’onore per primi di conoscere, studiare e
salvaguardare questa meravigliosa razza, per questo essendo i “padri fondatori”
hanno dato vita allo standard al quale ogni allevatore e giudice cerca di
attenersi. Concorderete con me
che nell’ ultimo quinquennio si è avuto un miglioramento enorme della razza,
siamo arrivati ad avere dei soggetti che sfiorano l’eccellenza assoluta, avere
degli esemplari che vediamo oggi in mostra fino a pochissimi anni fa era
praticamente inimmaginabile. Basta andarsi a guardare delle foto di alcuni
vincitori di competizioni mondiali e internazionali dell’epoca per rendersi
conto della differenza abissale che oggi abbiamo, si è passati da soggetti strutturalmente
minuti con poco rowing ma bellissime scaglie, a esemplari unici, dove il
disegno del petto è arrivato addirittura in alcuni soggetti dorati a chiudersi
completamente. Siamo arrivati ad avere maschi che per caratteristiche tendono a
confondersi con le femmine, canarini con strutture fisiche imponenti e
importanti, beh io mi guardo indietro e rimango sbigottito degli enormi
miglioramenti fatti, sembra che qualcuno si sia divertito a mettere il lizard
in una macchina del tempo e a fargli fare un balzo in avanti di 20 anni.
Io do il merito di tutto ciò all’ambizione, alla determinazione, alla
spregiudicatezza ma soprattutto alla profonda conoscenza di 2 allevatori
italiani, il primo è sicuramente il Sig.Fernando Fermi che per primo ha creduto
che il lizard non fosse solo scaglie ma dovesse avere una struttura importante
a sostenere il disegno, il secondo è per certi versi un suo discepolo, ed è
Domenico Mungiguerra, che in questi anni ha sempre cercato di selezionare
l’eccellenza non solo nelle voci più importanti dello standard, ma anche e
sopratutto nella meno considerata “portamento o
struttura”. A mio avviso, quei soggetti
destinati ad essere dei campioni, indossano questo magnifico disegno con
eleganza, maestosità e classe, come se gli avessero cucito indosso un abito fatto di piume dove ogni singola piuma
è stata attentamente adagiata al posto giusto, ma come nella moda, ciò che
conta altrettanto, quanto il meraviglioso abito, è sicuramente il modello che
lo indossa; infatti, penso che voi tutti concorderete che un meraviglioso abito
messo su un modello esile e senza un bel fisico perde della sua brillantezza,
immaginatevi un smoking di Valentino su di me e il medesimo su george clooney,
beh una bella differenza (povero george) a mio avviso lo stesso vale nel lizard.
Vedere delle bellissime scaglie su un piccolo soggetto non rendono giustizia a
questa meravigliosa razza, la perfezione si raggiunge ammirando questo disegno
su una struttura imponente con un dorso ampio e curvo che esalta al massimo il
suo splendore. È ammirare il meraviglioso stacco tra colore di fondo e il nero
delle miriadi “V” del disegno del petto che grazie alla lucentezza del
piumaggio abbaglia per bellezza.
Molti allevatori e addetti ai lavori, hanno accettato il fatto che il
cambiamento è in atto che il lizard non è più solo scaglie, la differenza
abissale ormai ha convinto anche i più scettici, il futuro è già oggi e noi lo
dobbiamo assecondare, ma ahimè ci dobbiamo scontrare con la realtà che ci mette
di fronte , soggetti a premi che presentano una struttura più simile a un
verzellino che ad un lizard campione, e
le perplessità restano quando li si vede, le critiche sono infinite ma è
proprio lì che noi dobbiamo capire che i giudici fondamentalmente seguono lo
standard in vigore, le schede di giudizio si rifanno a quel tipo di standard.
Ed ecco che ci ritroviamo da capo “tutto è perfettibile”,infatti in una società
moderna come la nostra dove ogni cosa viene migliorata da un secondo all’altro,
anche lo standard del lizard (mi permetto di dirlo sottovoce senza voler
offendere nessuno) potrebbe essere a mio avviso rivisto e aggiornato in alcuni
dei suoi punti, dando magari più risalto a delle caratteristiche che oggi hanno
