61st CHAMPIONNAT MONDIAL DES OISEAUX- WORLD SHOW - CAMPIONATI MONDIALI ORNITOLOGIA HASSELT (BE) 2013 - I LIZARD -
Stassin e l'olandese A.J. Stevens.
Stassin e l'olandese A.J. Stevens.
inviare i propri soggetti oltre Manica.
connazionale Deckers B. Sempre presente
nella premiazione del mondiale J.
Gubbels che quest’anno ha conquistato
quattro piazzamenti.
lizard vincitori ci siano lizard colorati in ROSSO.

61st CHAMPIONNAT MONDIAL DES OISEAUX- WORLD SHOW HASSELT 2013 (BE)
Our friend Pedro Leijen, preview sent
us photos of the winners Lizard exposed
to Hasselt and from the photos
I have extrapolated the classification of championship 2013.
PEDRO THANK YOU, VERY GOOD JOB.
PEDRO THANK YOU, VERY GOOD JOB.
The classification has been updated and corrected after publication on the official website
of the event.
The judges were A.J. Stevens from the Netherlands and J.C. Stassin from Belgium.
The British Stan Bolton, third in the individual blue and the second place in individual gold lizard for R. and T. Bunting appeared on the roof of the world, I do not remember it ever happened, they finally had a chance to send their subjects across the Channel. The quality of their subjects has been always great, but in my opinion, their "stubborn" in red color kept them isolated from the rest of the world does not allow a direct comparison with other similar lizard, in fact they have proved with blue lizard and not colored lizard (yellow). I have pleased to return to the success of the French Coquette V. which won the stamm of gold and finished second with a single silver lizard, actually some good subjects. Not very well the Spanish after the exploits of last year, six placings, they have achieved only a third place with single golden lizard of Recacha M. Gonzales. This year at home in Belgium, they have done very well mr. Etienne J. in the company of fellow Deckers B. Always present in the medals of the world championship J. Gubbels, in this year he won four medals. The total booty of the Germans has been good in fact three breeders were awarded, Stamm A., Wahl G. and the mythical Alfonse Tebroke that this year has not shone as usual, like last year when he won the first place in the gold and silver in both single and Stamm, this year was second with stamm of gold and second with blue single.
A Separate mention for the absence of the Italians, the super breeders regular winners of the world did not participate for various problems, the super breeders unusual participating to the world show did not intervene because the lizard Italians are deficient oxidation in beak and legs, and according to them were not competitive, but I think that some lizards that I have seen in some club shows and at the National Championship if exposed to the world show they would make BEAUTIFUL FIGURE. We shall see what will happen next year to BARI.

THE LIZARD IS NOT ONLY SPANGLES di HUM EVANS
Mr Hum Evans has send has his comments about : THE LIZARD IS NOT ONLY SPANGLES - IL LIZARD NON E' SOLO SCAGLIE.
la traduzione in italiano in fondo all'articolo in inglese.
Dear Angelo,
I have just read the item “THE LIZARD IS
NOT ONLY SPANGLES - IL LIZARD NON E’ SOLO SCAGLIE” on your blog.
- First let me congratulate you on the quality of
your English translation. It is very clear.
-Secondly I would like to agree with many of the
points made by Orazi Gian Marco, particularly that “it is not
all about the spangles”. There are 75 other points available, and to win,
you must have a bird that is perfectly balanced in all its features.
- Thirdly, there is a significant difference between the standard of the
Lizard Canary Association (LCA) and the OMJ/COM on the size of the ideal Lizard
canary. The LCA standard states the Lizard should be 135mm long and that “it is considered to an equal fault to be
either undersized or oversized”. The OMJ/COM standard states it
should be 125mm. This is an important difference because the LCA believes
that small birds cannot show their spangles to their best advantage. The
spangles shrink in proportion to size, and look like “tramlines” (continuous
stripes without individual edges).
- Fourthly, I disagree on some points:
I do not agree that the Lizard canary is better
now than twenty years ago. I can remember Mr. Fermi’s birds in the
1990s. They were top quality. They could compete with success
against today’s birds. I believe they were descended from Knighton stock
(as are mine). I have only seen photos of Mr. Mungiguerra’s
birds, but they also look similar to the best birds of the 1990s.
I believe there is too much emphasis on
rowings. In Britain, it is possible to win with a male bird, but in
Europe it is almost impossible. That means 50% of the Lizards bred each year
will never see the show bench. That is not good for the Lizard canary.
In Britain, judges do not expect a gold cock to have many rowings, and so they
make an allowance for this. However, if the spangles, colour, cap and
other features are good enough, he can still win.
I do not agree that “type” (i.e. size and shape)
should be included in the show standard. Our experience of other breeds
shows that when there is too much emphasis on size, quality suffers and other
problems arise (eg feather cysts). In my opinion, the most important
characteristic is not length, but width. A Lizard with broad shoulders
will always have an advantage over a narrow bird because its spangles have a
bigger area to be displayed. It does not need extra points for “type”.
We all want the best Lizard to win. From
my experience, the top Lizard breeders in all countries are usually in
agreement about which birds are the best. The problems arise because a)
the OMJ standard is different from the LCA standard; and b) the judges are not
specialist Lizard judges. In Britain, all Lizard judges are also Lizard
breeders. They understand the special qualities of the Lizard canary, and
because of this, the standard of judging is remarkably uniform. That is
not possible under the system of the OMJ.
Regards, Huw

traduzione in italiano:
Ho appena
1°-
Complimenti per la tua traduzione in inglese , molto chiara ed esaustiva;
Io ricordo i LIZARD
del signor Fermi negli anni 90. Essi erano di qualità eccelsa. Essi potevano
Io credo
che ci sia troppa enfasi sulle “rowings”. In Gran Bretagna è possibile vincere
Saluti
Hum Evans .
